Tapping method

Internal threading is classified as a cutting tool. This is because the thread is cut inside the hole of the workpiece that has been pre-drilled according to the size and standard. which tapping work is divided into 2 methods

1. Hand tapping, HAND TAPPING, with the following equipment

1.1 Taps are divided into 3 types as follows:

Type 1 is TAPER TAP - it has a taper tip of approximately 8-10 threads which is suitable for thread cutting in very hard materials. but not suitable for non-through tapping

Type 2 is PLUG TAP - It has less taper tip than TAPER TAP which is 5-10 threads long, suitable for through hole work.

Type 3 is Bottoming Tap - has a slightly tapered tip. which is about 1-1.5 threads long only Suitable for holes that have been tapped with other pilot taps. Suitable for both through-hole and non-through-hole applications.
