  • Fine sanding to finish wood and metal to a smooth sheen (high grit)
  • Sanding automotive paint and surface prep in body shops

Compatibility

Fits a same-size hook-and-loop backing pad for quick peel-and-stick changes. Start with a coarse grit suited to the surface, then step up through finer grits in sequence for a smooth finish without wasting time. Do not press too hard — finish quality depends more on grit selection than on pressure.

FAQ

How is a concrete grinding disc different from ordinary sandpaper?

A concrete grinding disc uses sharper, tougher brown grit designed to cut hard, abrasive concrete and cement surfaces without wearing out quickly, whereas ordinary sandpaper suits wood or paint. Grit choice matters too: low grit for coarse stock removal, high grit for a smooth finish.

380 mm seems large — are other sizes available?

380 mm is a standard size for rotary floor sanders, but MACAW makes custom sizes to match your machine and backing pad. Tell BOWMAP the diameter and grit number you need and we will make it to suit your job.

Which grit should I start with?

It depends on the surface. For very rough surfaces or deep marks, start low (e.g. 60–80) to remove material, then step up through 120, 240, and finer to the finish you want. Skipping too many grits at once leaves scratches from the previous grit.
